Alan Jemison's Method of Piano Instruction is designed to teach music reading & piano playing by one of the oldest, most successful methods known, students playing duets with the teacher. In the times of Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven, students advanced gradually by mastering prescribed tasks then sharing them in a duet format with the teacher. The emphasis was, as it should be, on reading & playing in time. The music used in this series is drawn from the great music of the western world: Hymns, folk songs, marches, waltzes, symphonies, etc. The teacher is always present during practice, instructing & playing along by means of the CD's. The tasks are pleasant & progress is assured."
